Wealth doesn’t guarantee health.
Money matters of course, it puts food on the table and a roof over your head. A certain amount is necessary for survival. When I talk about wealth, it’s not the needs I’m referring to, it’s the wants.
There’s nothing wrong with striving for wants of course because they can enable meaningful memories. A road trip in the car of your dreams or a vacation with your family. Life is short, a series of fleeting moments, and as many of those moments should be enjoyed as possible.
Wealth is important, but it can’t be your priority.
I know many self-made millionaires and unfortunately some never got to enjoy the wealth they worked so hard for. I knew a person who probably never worked less than 60 hours a week in their entire life. The hard work paid off in the financial sense, but it didn’t buy them more time. Cancer forced them into retirement. They never got the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of all their labor.
If you get satisfaction from the grind, I get it, I’m the founder of startup. I don’t currently have the luxury of only working 40 hours a week. But I still find time for a life outside of work. I won’t forget those who had their time cut short.
I’m making a short-term sacrifice now for the long-term vision. My dream is to give people time back, so they can enjoy their lives while still acquiring wealth. We’re going to make investing more accessible, we’re going to make the deal sourcing and evaluating more efficient, we’re going to leverage artificial intelligence to give everyone time back.
We were born on a rock flying through space around a gigantic fireball without any instructions. We’re aware our time is limited and we’re unaware of what happens when it’s over. You deserve the needs, you deserve the wants, you deserve to enjoy those fleeting moments.
Let us focus on the wealth, so you can focus on everything else.
